This is a valley deep in the mountains of the upper reaches of the Yukawa-gawa River, a tributary of the Arida-gawa River. It is a famous place for fishing for red spotted masu trout nurtured in the river's clear stream. The series of icicle s hanging down like an ice curtain in winter is a highlight. - Hyakkenzan-keikoku Valley
In this valley in the mountains where a primeval forest remains, enormous and oddly shaped rocks, giant's kettles and some 30 waterfalls large and small appear one after another. This scenery covered in fresh moss is magical. There is a trekking course running along the valley. - Kanaya Myoe-kyo Onsen
This is a nature-filled location on high ground overlooking Myoe-kyo Valley. It is said that your skin will be satiny after you get out of the viscous alkaline hot water. The indoor baths include Jacuzzis and places to recline in the hot water. The Arida-gawa River can be seen from the open air bath.

- Kawayu Onsen Sennin-buro
If you dig in the bed of the Oto-gawa River, you can enjoy an instant open air bath in the hot water that gushes forth. Every year from December to February, the river water is dammed up to create a big open air bath with an outstanding sense of spaciousness. The hot water that you bathe in while gazing up at the sky surrounded by nature is exceptional. Bathing suits are allowed.

- Tsuru-no-Yu Onsen
Beloved as a spa since the Edo period, this small hot spring is located in a mountain valley. The hot water constantly flowing from the source contains a lot of iron and it is said to be effective for recovering from fatigue. The murmuring of a river can be heard from the open air bath and you can steep in the hot water at your leisure while experiencing the grandeur of nature.

Ryujin Hot Spring is one of the three beautifying hot springs in Japan and its hot water is free-flowing. In addition to two types of indoor baths — Japanese cypress and rock — it has an open air bath where you can bathe surrounded by mountains while gazing on a mountain stream. It is a sodium hydrogen carbonate spring that gives you smooth, beautiful skin.

This public bath looking out on the sea off Yuzaki has a partitioned bath tub fed by two different hot springs. This is one of the hot springs with the highest concentrations of iron in Japan. The brown hot water contains plenty of carbonic acid gas that promotes circulation and sodium bicarbonate that beautifies the skin. The hot spring has both lukewarm water and heated water, so you can bathe in them alternately to improve your metabolism. The hot water is replaced every day, and midmorning when the carbonic acid concentration is high is the best time to bathe.

This hot spring is located on a hill overlooking the eight peaks of Mount Koyasan.
