Tankakujo Park
This park is built on the site of an old castle in the northern end of the city. The castle sat on a bluff overlooking the Kumano River and, because of the splendid view of the ocean, it was called Okimijo (literally the “castle with a view of the offshore”). Even though the castle grounds have been converted into a park, the view is still wonderful.
