Semuiji Temple
This is an old temple of the Shingon Sect of Buddhism. The approach in springtime is beautifully adorned by blossoming cherry trees and wondrous views can be enjoyed from the observation deck of Nishiarita Natural Park.

Yuasa Castle
Yuasa Castle is said to be the oldest castle perched on a mountain top in Japan. Built by the powerful Yuasa Clan, it is a public park and a hotel is operated there today.
Ninomaru Hot Spring
Whatever the time of year, this hot spring is nestled amidst splendor whether the colorful flowers of spring, the dancing fireflies of summer or the autumnal foliage of fall. There is an outdoor bath and anyone is welcome to bathe.

Shirouo (Ice Goby)
Around spring, when the ice gobies swim back up the Hiro River to spawn, it is tradition to fish for them. A popular way to enjoy them is known as “odori-gui” or “live as they wiggle”.
Kinzanji Miso
After training in China, Zen Priest Hotto Kokushi brought this method of making miso back to Japan. This unique miso is made not only out of soybeans but also with pieces of eggplant and melon-cucumber which are naturally pickled during the fermentation process. It makes a great topping, or can be eaten just as is.
Yuasa Soy Sauce
Yuasa soy sauce originated from the thick liquor that remains at the bottom of the barrel when making Kinzanji Miso. It is still made by hand today using quality water and traditional techniques.
