Visiting onsen (hot springs) is a must do in Wakayama!

A giant bath in the river, approximately 40 meters by 15 meters in size, appears only during winter from December to February.  It is a geological thermal wonder available at Kawayu Onsen where hot spring waters naturally bubbles to the surface of the river.

Not only this one, Wakayama prefecture is a rich ground for onsen and has a diversity of thermal waters with different history, atmosphere and natural location.
