14.Dojo-ji TempleThis temple was built in 701, which is the oldest in Kishu, a famous Tendai Buddhist Denomination temple. This is the place where Kabuki and Noh adopted as the scene of popular tragic love story with young priest Anchin and a daughter of the representative of the village, Kiyohime. Charge: Free 17.Engetsu-to IslandThis is the symbol of Shirahama and as the central part of the island has been opened by the sea water, it is known as "Engetsu-to Island". Formally it is called "Takashima" which is a small island floating on the ocean of Rinkaiura with its size of 35m of east-west, 130m of north-south, and 25m of height. The evening scene is especially beautiful.
