This is a free-flowing hot spring that sprang up in 1934. The large public bath, made by hand by a previous proprietor, affords an unbroken view of the Hiki-gawa River flowing right next to it. The spring water is also good for drinking and many visitors from outside the prefecture can be seen buying it.

A group of oddly shaped rocks that tower above the clear, blue watersHashigui-iwa Rock

This group of 40-some oddly shaped rocks standing in a 850 meter row is a Japanese national monument. They achieved their current shape when the rocks were worn away by the erosion of the sea, leaving only their hardest parts in place.

A museum that keeps alive the record of a shipwreck that was made into a movieTurkish Museum

This museum displays items from the shipwreck of the Turkish frigate Ertuğrul and photos from that time. It also touches on stories of friendship between those on the frigate and residents of Kushimotocho who risked their lives to save them.

A white-walled lighthouse that looks down on the ocean from a cliffKashinozaki Lighthouse

This is Japan's oldest stone lighthouse, located on the eastern tip of Kii Oshima Island. It is still in active use to watch over maritime safety. When you ascend the spiral staircase, you can see a dynamic, unbroken view of the Pacific Ocean, including cliffs and reefs.

Many people go out of their way to visit this bakery & cafe to get breads made using Japanese wheat, homemade yeast and the delicious water of Kushimoto. Walk next to a great variety of waterfallsHirose-keikoku Valley

You can see the bottom of the river through the clear water of this tributary of the Susami-gawa River. When you walk on the 600 meter promenade along the valley, you can see 10 waterfalls large and small and in the very upper reaches is the Koto Falls, which has a drop of 20 meters and is considered one of the eight great views of Susami.

This is a postal collection box set up at a beach diving spot. The items placed in the box are collected by divers every day and then sent on from Susami Post Office. It is recognized by Guinness World Records as the mailbox in the deepest location in the world.

The world’s only aquarium specializing in crustaceans!Susami Crustacean Aquarium

This aquarium displays 1,000 animals of 150 species, mostly crustaceans such as shrimp and crabs that inhabit the sea near Japan. Here you can see the Japanese spider crab, the largest crab in the world, small, colorful shrimp, and more.

Opened in JR Mi rozu Station in September 2018. This is a cafe where you can enjoy a relaxing time while looking at the beautiful sea of Susami from the window, as the name suggests. Nakanokawa Noen Purin-bu

This pudding made from pasteurized milk and eggs from free-range chickens from a farm on the bank of the Nakano-gawa River tributary of Samoto-gawa River has the simple, strong flavor of eggs. This pudding has two different kinds of caramel, one poured on top and one beneath the pudding.
Sold mainly in the city of Tanabe, in such stores as the Yottette Inari Honkan store and Kisaikan. *Not sold at the farm.
